The Kite Team plan just got an upgrade. It's now easier to keep content on-brand and consistent across all the videos your team publishes.
Templates
Teams can now save scenes as shared templates for easy reuse in future projects.

Choose whether to save screen recordings in the scenes into the templates, or to replace them with placeholder media:
CleanShot 2026-04-29 at 13
Great use cases for scene templates include:
  • Intro and ending logo scenes that you want to include on all the videos your brand publishes
  • Branded text scenes you want to stitch into
  • Screen recording scenes that you find yourself wanting to re-use across your projects.
Any new team members that join your team automatically get access to these building blocks and can start creating on-brand videos from day one.
Themes
Themes in Kite centralize brand assets like fonts, text styles, and logos in one place, making it quick to update values across entire projects. Previous, themes were simple local files attached to projects.
Now, Team plan users can choose to share themes to the cloud, (outside of projects) so their teammates can access them too.
Teams can mark one of the themes as the default/canonical theme for their brand. Any new projects created by the team will start from this theme by default.
You can also store additional themes alongside your default theme. This is useful for:
  • Agencies with multiple clients, where each client needs its own theme
  • Companies making video series or campaigns, where each series needs its own unique look
  • Companies with different product lines or features, where each product line has its own brand

3D UI Reveals
We've added a brand new way to unveil new features in your app in a dramatic and engaging way.
We're calling it "3D UI Reveals"—and it builds on top of our existing 3D callouts system.
Instead of just adding highlights or 3D pop-out effects to the element, Reveals first mask out the element, and then let you reveal it to the viewer for the first time, with a variety of one-click animations.
You can have it fly in in 3D space, wipe in, scale in, etc. The best way to understand is to see it in action:
Easier callout drawing tools:
We've also made it much faster to draw callouts with two new tools:
"Shrink to fit" automatic bounding box sizing:
Tired of spending time sizing your callouts correctly around an element? You can now draw a rough oversized bounding box, and click "Shrink to fit." Kite will detect the edges of the element and size your callout perfectly.
(Works with most "rectangular-ish" elements that have a different background color or border from the background).

Automatic border radius detection:
Another time-consuming part of using callouts is getting the border radius on your callout to match the UI element.
Now you can simply press "auto-detect" and let Kite handle this for you as well.
(As with "shrink to fit," this works best with "rectangular-ish" elements that have a different background color or border from the background).

These features both work for blurs as well.
Separate blur and callout timeline rows
We split up the blur and callout rows, after getting feedback that it's nice to be able to do both at the same time. Just like before, each blur block, can contain unlimited blurred areas. This means you can now blur out unlimited items, plus one callout at a time.
Gradient glow 3D callouts
Lastly, the existing 3D callouts feature got even more stylish (impossible...right??). The animated callout borders can now be traced with gradients instead of just solid colors. And you can add a diffuse glow.
Combine those together and you get a stunning look that's especially great for showing off AI features. Check it out:
We've made a big overhaul to the AI voiceover system.
More expressive & promptable voices
You can now prompt your voiceover lines using brackets to control tone, speed and pauses. For example:
"[fast] [excited] You better hurry, this deal won't last!"
"[Scared] That's sort of [pause] strange."
Voice quality is generally much improved in expressive mode as well, though the voices can have more variation. New projects will start out in Expressive mode by default, but you can easily switch voices back to Standard mode if you prefer the old system:

Tips:
  • Voices must be set to expressive mode to use bracket prompts.
  • Place brackets
    before
the words you want them to affect:
("[laughs] That's funny!" --> Haha, that's funny. "That's funny [laughs]" --> "That's funny, haha"
Expanded language & accent support.
We've added thousands of new AI voices, cover a much wider variety of languages and regions, and made it easier to search for voices with particular regional accents.

Eleven Labs custom voices
You can now connect your Eleven Labs account (via API key) and create Kite videos with your own custom Eleven Labs voices. This was a much-requested feature—useful if you've cloned your own voice using Eleven Labs, or have custom voices you typically use with your brand.
You can connect your ElevenLabs account in the top right of the voice picker modal:

You can now add stylized captions / subtitles to exported videos–great for increasing engagement on muted videos on social channels.
You can find this feature in the new captions tab in the sidebar.
The captions currently work with the AI voiceovers. In the future we may support generating captions from microphone audio tracks as well.

Exports are now up to twice as fast, especially on videos that have lots of screen recordings or imported media.
To try it out, ensure you're on the latest version of Kite: 1. Restart Kite, then 2. Menu bar > Kite > Check for updates
If you experience any issues with the new export system, you can switch back to the legacy exporter in the advanced section of the export modal:

You can now add as many blurred regions as you want,
AND
you can use AI to speed up the process!
Simply add a blur:

Then click the detect button, and include an optional prompt, such as "blur all emails," or "blur all chrome tabs."

Wait a few seconds, and you'll get back a whole bunch of blurred regions, labeled and grouped for convenience:

You can then mouse over any area in the list to preview it alone in the viewer. Click the delete button if you don't want to keep it, or adjust the bounding box if you need to fine tune it:

(AI detection requires uploading the current frame of the screen recording to the cloud for processing).
You can now add blurs to hide sensitive or distracting info in your screen recordings.
You can add blurs from the callouts / blurs row in the scene timeline:

Highlight key features and UI elements in your screen recordings by using new 3D callouts.
Watch a 30 second overview here:
You'll find the "Callouts" row in the scene timeline. Simply drag and resize in the viewer to choose the area of the screen you want to show.
Choose from a variety of styles and customization options in the sidebar.
We'll be building on this feature shortly with a feature for blurring sensitive and distracting parts of your recordings.
Background updates
We shipped some improved animated mesh gradient backgrounds, with a variety of color presets. They're generated dynamically using shaders, so you can customize them fully.
We also moved backgrounds to their own tab to make them easier to find, and to give space for some more exciting background scenes coming soon. The "Scene" tab has been renamed "Media."
CleanShot 2025-10-30 at 15
Text animations
We also added two new text animations:
Count
lets you show off important numbers in your video (customer counts, revenue, etc) in style. Enter any text with a number, and Count will render a smooth counting animation. You can count up or down, and customize the starting number and speed.
Crypto
let's you "decrypt" your text, cycling through a random set of characters until the correct text is displayed. Perfect for adding a fun touch to crypto, security, or AI content.
Scene templates
We added a new collection of scene templates called "Big numbers" which combine the new backgrounds and text animations.

You can now now import custom font files to better match your brand. You'll find this option in the Theme tab.
